I would be doing humanity a great disservice if I didn't do all that I could to promote this.
What exactly is it about the comment from Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks that has us so upset. I certainly don't think it's the simple fact that she said something rather unkind about our president. There has afterall been much of that going around. There certainly is nothing wrong with not liking the man, but what bothers most people is that they didnt' have the courage to say these things back home in the USA. She chose to give her friendly up-yours to the supporters of Bush from her percieved safe zone across the Atlantic, but not even the great distance has shielded her from the backlash. One-time fans have called up radio stations and encouraged other listeners to 'ban' the Dixie Chicks and trash concert tickets and their albums. It seems to be working. One radio station in Houston put a temporary moratorium on their music. Apparently 77 percent of the station's polled audience didn't agree with Mrs. Maines.
To be honest, I never did enjoy their music. Now I have a reason to dislike atleast one member of the band. Of course, she could immedietly redeem herself if she comes back home and makes the same comments to a hometown audience. I would love to see that stunt pulled in Texas.

I started this blog to better share information about current events with my friends and peers. To tell you the truth, I'm still learning how this process works so please be patient with me.
